Lord Chong Singapore, Historical Dessert in China Town

Everyone would wonder like me if Lord Chong Singapore were Thai or Singaporean dessert. After visiting this long-established Singapore Pochana Restaurant on Charoenkrung Road closed to Mor Mee and Chalermburi junctions, you will get your question answered.

Yes, this Singapore Pochana Restaurant has been selling Lord Chong for over 60 years. It was the first shop selling Lord Chong in town at that time. This restaurant has shared a long history of Yaowaraj precinct as well as has become another old famous place in China Town you should visit. Everyone named it as Lord Chong Singapore in the past because it was situated opposite to Singapore Cinema back to last 60 years before turning to be Chalermburi Cinema and then UOB bank nowadays. Hence, everyone was always mentioning “Lord Chong shop opposite to Singapore Cinema” or in short “Lord Chong Singapore” ☺

Nevertheless, as the current owner is getting old, he is not sure how long he will carry on this business. Besides Lord Chong Singapore (Baht 15 per glass), he also sells pork noodles for his customers who want more than dessert to eat at his restaurant as well. So, you should visit this place when you still have a chance before it would become the history place of China Town that you can read about it from the book only.
