It is not common to see these old people hanging in the nowadays café around Bangkok since the places seem not fit for them. Nonetheless, it is pretty common to see a crowd of old Chinese guys sit and talk at one particular café on Yaowaraj-Padsai Road. Yes! It’s Eia Sae - the over-80-years-established café that becomes a part of their life the same way that it becomes a part of China Town history.

You will see many old Chinese guys filled up this café everyday. They have been coming here since they were still young; maybe some coming here since their parents’ generation! They sit and talk and play some kind of game since the early morning started ‘til the day ended. And, they look very happy with their drinks and their lifestyle for the last stage of their life. ☺

It is not only the space that these people like from this café; it is also the drinks that matter. Of course, their coffee is so renowned not limit to China Town precinct as well as not limit to these ages of customers. It is widespread to every age of customers and every corners of town as it is doing some franchising across the town as well. Some of their drinks are special and unique unlike any other café. Like Nho Kao Yen (a mix of coffee and iced tea with milk), Nho Kao O-Liang (a mix of iced black coffee and iced tea with milk), and Heng Ying Yen (almond drink). You can buy their drink from everywhere with the sign “Eia Sae” but I would recommend to visit their café on Yoawaraj-Padsai Road to see the real live.
